Hmmmmmmmm... I'm not sure what to think. I've read quite a few of woman lit (Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux and And Then I Found You by Patti Callahan Henry for example) and enjoyed them, but I didn't quite liked this one.
The narration was okay, but the dialogue felt stiff, sometimes random, and forced. There were instances when this scene was supposed to have a great dialogue judging from prior events, but the lack of build-up and too much focus on describing the other characters' backgrounds just made it all flat
. The heroine was a bit of a Mary Sue, too, surrounded by everyone so awesome and great, her family being the perfect family there is. Sigh. It was boring to read, honestly.
