There is no doubt in my mind that Brandson Sanderson is one of the best fantasy authors out there. The Emperor's Soul is what authors should strive to create. Perfect, mystifying, compelling, and downright beautiful to the very bone. I've read some of his previous works, and even though Warbreaker was the one I first fell in love with, even it pales in comparison to this masterpiece. It's short, but it packs a punch. A lot of it. Even I still can't stop thinking about this book. The ending was just perfect, the writing sublime, the characters genuine and inspiring. This is something that has a lot of reread value. It may be short, but the impact is so strong. So, so strong.
Brandon Sanderson, what have you done to me?
